Cathy Koch has served as the principal at UE5G since the Fall of 2005. Prior to serving at UE5G, Mrs. Koch was the principal at Dwight Elementary School for two years and at County Line Elementary School for six years. Mrs. Koch has twenty years of experience as a school principal and 31 years of experience in education. Previously in her career, she served as an elementary counselor and as a teacher in kindergarten through sixth grade.

In 2008, Mrs. Koch was accepted into Phase I of the Master Principal Institute through the Arkansas Leadership Academy. She received rigorous training and professional development that helped shape her leadership. Over the next two years, Mrs. Koch was accepted for Phases II and III of the Master Principal Institute. After her training was completed in 2010, Mrs. Koch applied for the final phase of the four-year program. In May 2011, Mrs. Koch was awarded the designation of Master Principal by the Arkansas Leadership Academy at the State Board Meeting in Little Rock, making her one of the first seventeen principals in our state to receive the award.

Mrs. Koch believes that all of us, children and adults, should be continually learning and gaining knowledge and skills to make improvements for our school. By involving parents, community members, staff and students in our school, we share a common vision and purpose for our school community. Mrs. Koch believes that our focus must always be what is best for students.
