An RSD Student’s Story of being an Inclusive Collaborator

When it comes to elementary school, students are learning how to learn, even in the 4th grade. Students’ reading, writing, math, and social skills are continuously evolving and building upon each other with the goal of growing each year. While some students may be at different levels, everyone is learning and evolving together!

For students like Reece Wilkins at Center Valley Elementary, learning together is most important.

Reece is a 4th grader and has spent his education career, beginning all the way in preschool, at Center Valley Elementary. When it comes to his learning, Reece believes in the power of including everyone at the table.

“I enjoy getting to hear and learn from everyone in my class." said Reece. Reece says he loves doing group work because everyone in his class has something important to offer.

Center Valley Elementary Principal, Mrs. Victoria Golden says Reece is a strong leader in his classroom and strives to recognize the value in every one of his fellow classmates. “He leads well in classroom discussions. When working in partner pairs, he stops to listen to others speak and expounds on what others have to say. Reece is the student who is friends with everyone and values everyone's thoughts and opinions!”

Reece was recognized at the December RSD Board of Education Meeting for being an empathetic leader and inclusive collaborator.! This recognition comes from the RSD Profile of the Graduate, which outlines the attributes RSD graduates will encompass when they graduate. Read more here: https://www.rsdk12.net/page/rsd-graduate
