Due to the inclement winter weather days this year, the RSD school calendar needs to be revised to provide the required instructional minutes for our students. All RSD Schools were closed due to inclement weather on the following dates:
January 15, 2024 (Non-Instructional Day)
January 16, 2024
January 17, 2024
January 18, 2024
January 22, 2024
With the removal of Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days, the District must have make-up days to ensure the minimum number of instructional hours per year are met. In the 2023-2024 school year calendar, the District has enough hours built in to only need to make up 3 days.
The RSD Board of Education and the certified and classified personnel policy committees have approved the revised 2023-2024 calendar. The student instructional make-up days are as follows to ensure students are provided the quality instructional time needed ahead of state testing in late spring.
Make Up Student Instructional Days:
January 16, 2024 Inclement Weather Day | Made up through the built in hours from the current school calendar.
January 17, 2024 Inclement Weather Day | Make up on February 19, 2024, which was formerly a teacher contract day.
January 18, 2024 Inclement Weather Day | Make up on April 9, 2024, which was formerly a teacher contract day.
January 22, 2024 Inclement Weather Day | Make up on May 31, 2024, making May 31st a student interaction day.
