Dwight Elementary school celebration

Dwight Elementary School has been recognized by Solution Tree as a Promising Practices Professional Learning Community at Work® (PLC) for its outstanding commitment to improving student achievement through collaborative efforts. This recognition marks Dwight Elementary as the first school in the Russellville School District to achieve this honor.

Promising Practices schools, like Dwight Elementary, are acknowledged for laying a strong foundation in the PLC process, demonstrating measurable improvements in student outcomes over the past one to two years. As part of the recognition, Dwight Elementary will share its successful strategies, structures, and practices with the broader educational community via AllThingsPLC.info, a platform created by Solution Tree.

Dwight Elementary Principal, Krista Malin, commented, “Our commitment to student learning has been our top priority over the past two years. The Professional Learning Community (PLC) process has been essential in driving our students' success. It has fostered a collaborative environment where every staff member works together as a unified team to ensure that all students achieve at high levels. It was an honor to tell the story of the focused work I see happening in our building every single day for our students.”

“RSD is incredibly proud of Dwight Elementary for being the first school in the Russellville School District to be recognized as a Promising Practices Professional Learning Community. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire Dwight team in prioritizing collaboration and student-centered learning. Their success sets a powerful example for all of our schools as we continue to grow and innovate together as a district”, commented Dr. Ginni McDonald, RSD Superintendent.

Through the implementation of the PLC at Work process, Dwight Elementary has seen a visible, positive impact on student learning. The school’s dedication to ongoing, job-embedded professional learning for educators has played a pivotal role in its success.

PLCs are centered around three key principles that drive success:

1. A focus on student learning

2. Building a culture of collaboration
