Russellville School District is excited to welcome Matt Kordsmeier as the new Principal of Sequoyah Elementary School!
With nearly 30 years of experience in RSD, Mr. Kordsmeier has served in a variety of roles, from coaching at Russellville High School to leading Russellville Junior High School as principal, and most recently supporting students and staff at Oakland Heights Elementary.
His passion for education and heart for students make him a perfect fit for Sequoyah.

The Cyclone Quiz Bowl team earned their 11th straight trip to the state finals on Saturday with convincing wins over Mountain Home, Sylvan Hills, Greenwood, El Dorado, and Searcy.

They will compete on Arkansas PBS on April 25th for their 10th consecutive state title. 🏆

The Russellville School District is excited to invite all incoming kindergarteners and their families to Hop Into Kindergarten on Tuesday, April 14th, from 5:30–7:00 PM! 🐰📚

This event will be held at every elementary school in the district, including Sequoyah, Crawford, Dwight, Center Valley, Oakland Heights, and London.

Families can meet principals and teachers, tour classrooms, and connect with other students and parents. Each child will receive a book and ABC early literacy magnetic letters, along with training and instructions to help get ready for the school year.

If you aren’t registered yet, don’t worry—you can register in person when you arrive

This is the perfect opportunity for your child to get familiar with their new school and start the year off right.
