This afternoon (8/27/18), Center Valley Elementary School was placed in a lock out procedure due to a manhunt being conducted by the Pope County Sheriff’s Office in the area of SR 124 and Weir Road. A lock out procedure means that all students were kept inside of the building. The school was placed in a lock out procedure as a cautionary measure. At no time was there a threat posed to our students or staff. Before the end of the day, the lock out procedure had been lifted. Thank you to the Pope County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement who responded admirably to this situation.
