Beginning the 2023-2024 school year, RSD will implement Smart Start Mondays in which all RSD schools will begin one hour later to provide instructional staff time to plan and collaborate on instructional practices for remediation or acceleration based on student needs.
Community information sessions:
The District will be hosting Learning Sessions for families to learn more about Smart Start Monday implementation. The learning sessions will be held at the Russellville Junior High School Library at the following dates and times:
July 13th, July 14th, July 19th, and July 20th
Morning Sessions 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.
Mid Day Sessions 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Evening Sessions 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.

At the June Board of Education Meeting, RSD Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Savannah Burden was recognized as well as Cyclones Boys Track Team for winning the 5A Track State Championship title.

RHS Quiz Bowl competed in the National Academic Championships in New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend. The team scored over 1700 points to rank Cyclone Quiz Bowl Number 1 in their region and one of the top 10 teams in the nation! On June 11th, they will head to the national playoffs to compete for a national title!
